How long does my hair have to be to get a wax?
Typically we want 3-4 weeks of growth (especially for a Brazilian) However everyone's hair grows at different speeds, so we want it to be 1/4 in long equal to the length of a grain of rice
Can I get waxed on my period?
Absolutely you can! We just ask you put a fresh tampon in when coming in and we are good to go. Keep in mind too you may be more sensitive while being on your cycle, so the wax may hurt a little more than normal
What is exfoliating?
Exfoliating is the process in which we use a chemical or physical exfoliant to remove dead skin from the top layer of your skin. Think sugar scrub, exfoliating mitt, or a BHA exfoliating pad. We want to make sure we are exfoliating our skin 3 times a week
Can I get waxed while pregnant?
Yes! Unless your doctor advises you other wise we are more than happy to wax you all the way up to your due date. Just like being on your cycle though keep in mind things may get spicier the further along you are
Can you get waxed on Accutane?
No!! Accutane in a potent oral medication that you take for acne and is really harsh on the skin, making it a contraindication for waxing. You will need to be off Accutane for a year before getting waxed. If you wax before that you could risk damaging the skin, and lifting or scaring
I just got waxed, and now have white bumps!!
Not a doctor, but neither is google. If you are seeing what looks to be like a bunch of little whiteheads where hair was, you most liking have a mild case of folliculitis. Keep the area clean and dry and it will clear up in a couple days. Most times it could be from sweating after a wax, or sometimes your skin is just more sensitive, but normal.
How often should I get waxed?
Standard time for waxing is every 4-6 weeks. Everyone is a little different, but typically your sweet spot will be in that timeframe
How long do I need to wait after having a baby to get waxed?
We won't wax you any sooner than 6 weeks postpartum. Its best to make sure you are cleared by your doctor before returning to waxing, especially if you had a c-section or any other complications
If I wax, will it grow back thicker?
No!! The great thing about waxing is it will actually cause your hair to grow back thinner and less dense. Waxing is pulling the hair from the root, so it will take longer for the hair follicle to grow a new hair, which means you'll go longer before that new growth pushes through the skin
What is a Brazilian wax?
A Brazilian wax, is a type of bikini wax that is removing all the hair that is within the confines of a bikini bottom. Includes hair removal of the bikini line, pubic mound, labia and the butt strip
What should I avoid after a wax?
Anything the involves excessive sweating or friction. No gym
No sauna
No hot tub
No tanning bed
No sexual activity
for 24-48 hours after your wax
Can you get waxed if you have herpes?
Yes! You can definitely get waxed if you have herpes. You just cannot come get waxed in the middle of an outbreak. If you have an appointment booked and have an outbreak, just reschedule out a couple weeks : )
